making a list

Well look at me, I’m blogging in the middle of daytime hours! Turns out the library, a daily destination point when we are visiting Newport, has free wifi. So Nico is plugged into some Clifford game on the library computer while I sneak in some quick keystrokes. Unfortunately, I seem to have arrived during toddler story time, so the place is swarming with wee ones. I have never seen more than 2 other kids at a time here before. In fact, the last time we came for story time the librarian was sitting on a chair in the corner waiting for someone to show up, looking very much like an animatron that had been unplugged. Too bad Nico is very much NOT into story time. Or, toddlers.

He IS into swimming. And I was very sad to find out that we don’t have access to the saline pool we usually visit anymore. And the public pool only has one public swim time, on Saturday.

And he IS into playing on the playground, so I was very sad to see that the closest play structure has been completely removed.

And actually, if you add the fact that our usually quiet and dependable trip to the library has been overtaken by toddlers, Newport is kind of sucking today.

But, at least this is out of the way. And we always have Candyland.
